My Rangie chassis is registered as a Land Rover wagon. All the other Rangies I've seen are reg'd as Range Rovers.

Anyone wanna hybrid project. Would be easy as to register it.

It was the Burwood office...

Now here is the catch with the cost of Reg.
the 1st time he punched it into the puter it came up as Wagon, with all the stamp duty and fees it was $700 on the nose.... ( i declared market value at $2800)
Then when he re-entered it as a Ute after the puter change it was $701.10 Jibbed.......

So a Ute is $1.10 dearer than a Wagon.... that's 1 litre of fuel i could have saved....

When I converted my IIA from a hardtop to a ute, I went into QLD transport to get the rego changed.

My friendly local engineer who gave me a shiny blue plate for my bucket seats had already said the ute conversion didn't need a blue plate since it was bolt on-off and there wasn't a modification code for it.

Took me a while to explain that to QLD transport, who then had to call the engineer, and then call various people at head office. After waiting about 45 minutes, the guy came out to me and said "nice ute" and that was it.

My 130 is listed as both ute and wagon even in the same paperwork. Local rego didn't care but some people get confused when the read white Defender Wagon and then look at it and then see Ute as well.

well at least with a double cab there is some excuse for confusion!
