G'day Folks![]()
For Ford US and PAG, the Landrover Defender is only a VERY small part of the operation, and it is a vehicle that is not Safety Compliant in the USA so they are not going to outlay huge amounts of $$$ on production, they have stated that it might not be produced much after 2010/12. Their main market isUK/ Europe and the Middle East, so their sales and marketing are geared towards that, Australia is only a VERY small market, and there are signifigant Import Restrictions and Duties, around 331/3% I thinkthat, in the light of Japan and Korea being "Preferred Trading Partners" with 00%-5% import duties, that then sets the Sales Prices, and coupled with the low $ Marketing Budget, and the "When they want a new "Rover/Landrover/RangeRover", they will come in and purchase one" atitude, then Sales will be at a minimum
