For Ford US and PAG, the Landrover Defender is only a VERY small part of the operation, and it is a vehicle that is not Safety Compliant in the USA so they are not going to outlay huge amounts of $$$ on production, they have stated that it might not be produced much after 2010/12. Their main market isUK/ Europe and the Middle East, so their sales and marketing are geared towards that, Australia is only a VERY small market, and there are signifigant Import Restrictions and Duties, around 331/3% I think that, in the light of Japan and Korea being "Preferred Trading Partners" with 00%-5% import duties, that then sets the Sales Prices, and coupled with the low $ Marketing Budget, and the "When they want a new "Rover/Landrover/RangeRover", they will come in and purchase one" atitude, then Sales will be at a minimum

land Rover advetise very heavly in the Uk but alot of people will say they don't . The ans to that is you don't move in the right circles

They are main sponsers for most of the horse events in Europe and most of the sailing events These are the two sports thay hit hard with advertising
