Yeah I know, but what I meant was...I'll probably licence the Landy in whichever State has the most sensible laws. I won't actually have a residence, so any State will do. So it obviously won't be NSW for starters.

Well hate to break the news to you, but having your car go over the pits in NSW for registration was proven when they considered that option in Victoria in the mid 1990's of having absolutely no benefit in keeping unroadworthy vehicles off the road and just added to the costs of running a vehicle.
Same as cancelling licences for non-payment of fines, people just continue to drive vehicles if caught by police, they simply ignore the fines and court summons and continue with driving on roads.
If you want further proof just wait for a week or so some current affair show is bound to have the show about about Australia's worse drunk driver caught driving drunk without license the xxxth time.
Only 2 way's to keep unlicensed drivers off the road is to lock them up, the second and less effective way is remove their vehicle, they still drive someone else car who is silly enough to lend them the key's, in whihc case you lock that car away as well.
whats that no dont pay licences - so no drivers licence - what about vehicle rego...... typical.....

Bullbars keeps the bad kangaroos at bay. Yes there are a lot of people that drive unrego, unlicensed and get away with it. There are a lot of toorac tractor owners who buy every accessory from ARB because they can. If there is a ban on 4X4s then toymoto will bring out a 2WD version of the 100 series. There are 2X4 F trucks bigger than most 4X4s. But bullbars have their use and it is not to mow down people on the pavement, it's to protect the car and occupants. If somone dosent use the lights or zebra crossing then it's their own fault. Its one of those no win thingos.
Does anyone else remember when you were able to get roo-bars and bullbars and there was that wonderful fad of those horrid clear plastic bars on the front of everyones Ford or Holden sedan... my how times have changed!
As for bullbars and bulls... if you hit a large bull water buffalo head on... it doesn't matter what is on the front of the car...it's going to be very ugly for all parties involved![]()

Used to work for Westrail and drove a brand new Commodore wagon from Merredin to Koolyanobbing once to pick up a train crew. The Commodore had one of those very functional plastic bars on it. Somewhere between Southern Cross and Kooly, I ran up the **** of a donkey on the road.
Donyey - 1 : Plastic Bar - 0
They had to send another Commodore.
