Hi All,
I'd actually forgotten (after many years of not owning a Land Rover) how everyone that doesn't own a Land Rover is such a bloody expect on them and how everyone has some "expert" opinion that they are quite willing to share with you.
I'd also forgotten that nasty "Land Rover Owner/Weirdo" bug thing one gets from having Land Rovers. You all know it, ya just can't own it and simply keep it maintained, ohhh no, hrmmm long travel coils, shocks, snorkel, dual batteries, long range tanks, winch, diff guard, mod that tail shaft, brighten them headlights, diff lock and the list goes on and on.
I'm already thinking once the Disco is ready for weekenders, holidays that I could get an old series Landie to play with![]()
Series 3 LWB with the 2 1/4 petrol motor, doesn't need to be running, but I haven't told the good woman about that thought yet, so shhhhh !!!
Best regards
DarrenR
Darren, I know where a series (3? maybe) lwb is, sitting under a tree in a paddock, appears restorable (doesn't look to bad, actually), been up for sale for a while - if you're interested.
The same thought crossed my mind, but......if I acquired it, I may be, umm, in the doghouse....
I should take a pic of it when I'm next going to Lennox Head.
Cheers, GQ
I can see why you guys are looking at LWB series vehicles.. its so you have somewhere to sleep once you tell SWMBO about the new toy. :-)

At this stage if I dared to buy another Land Rover, as already mentioned it would need to be a LWB.
Unfortunately, we still have the cost of locating to Melb at the end of the year, then one of the blood sucking *cough* loving children is off to uni, who then shortly after that will want/need a car, during which time I have to decide what I want to do with regards to working in Melb etc etc.
So unless the girl child decides it's ok to drive a Series 3 LWB Land Rover it's not going to happen just yet.
And just sold my old van today !! so I've got some ready cash to go into the Disco quick quick before the boy wants a PS3. Since the Disco it's now a fight, my toys or his, so far I'm winning !!!!!
Best regards

Tell the missus you're buying it for the daughter......then when the daughter gets over the initial joy of having her own car, even if it is a Land Rover, she will give it back to dad and get a job and buy a convertible, cause she can cruise down Chapel st in that.![]()

I keep putting old Landies onto our "my ebay".
My better half, who dabbles on ebay used to say "you are not buying another Landrover", its slowly gone to "you are not buying another Landrover- are you? to- why do you want another Landrover?
I'm getting there![]()
Pfft get a job? she will be a uni student living at home so I won't hold my breath on that one.
The girl originally wanted a VW Kombie, when I threw the restoration figures at her mother, she promptly canned that idea and told her to pick something else.
I did ponder throwing in the idea of a Freelander (hey common you guys, it's still a Land Rover).
Best regards
