Ok, I have the full story and well, hmmmm understandable - but not happy Jan.
About 6 months ago, he agreed to let another "Matt" have them. He said come and take them whenever you want.
He never heard back from him, so decided to sell them.
Anyway, he got a phone call Sunday arvo from "Matt" (who he thought was me), that he had just picked them up. he thought OK. He then looked at the number realised it wasn't. Called the bloke back and he had already removed them.
Funny thing was, I was all set to get them Sat. morn, but my mates flat top truck died.:(
The seller is a good bloke and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't dud me, he's down $400 by doing it. I wasn't going to argue with him, because it was dissapointing, but understandable.
It does seem someone had seen the posts on here, and told the other "Matt" to go and collect them though:mad:
But as young a Edward Kelly said- such is life.
Now I just have to put the Browning back in the gun safe!!!
As a positive, I can keep the pennies set aside for another project, have a bit more free time over Easter, and keep looking for more old dungas;) :spudnikcry:
