Do I get the impression, the culprit, who may have been reading this thread, got cold feet and thought the better of it, think about it, he/she may be know to others, may be a member.big job restoring two and how do you unload them anonymously, everybody here reads the for sale adds.
To whoever, good to see you changed your mind.

I'm prob's just going to get one from the servo, but if anyone in Brissy or surrounds had one they wanted to lend - for a few dollars of course, let me know.

On a sunny but overcast, almost wet day, ( yesterday) 3 intrepid disco's and their drivers met in a paddock near Lennox Head, their mission to retrieve 2 sought after landrovers.
Fenian, slippery as an Eel, Quiggers. Alexander, son of quiggers and yours truly, got into a huddle , deciding the best plan of attack. All the while aware there may have been a landrover filcher watching from the bushes. Quiggers, fired up his trusty brushcutter and cleared the long grass from around prize no 1, the ex army 79 mod ex fitted for wireless rig, JE and The eel got to work with a bit of fencing wire, jerry rigging the steering as one of the arms was broken.
Alexander son of Quiggers, got stuck into the photos.
Eventually the prize was retreived from its precarious location , deposited onto a car trailer and moved up the road down the hill and up the other hill, to a secret location. ( My cattle yards, where it will be guarded by 8 cows ,4 dogs , a specially trained attack cat! and a shotgun)
here it is after arriving at the secret location !

Standing on its own, proud and strong,

after this task was completed then back we went to the paddock to recover prize no 2, the ute.
What a job this was, another huddle, a plan of attack, bugger it hasn.t got any brakes, how do we stop it rolling over the eel mobile, idea hook it up to the back of the JE mobile and lower it on gently while quiggers steers and the eel supervises.
taking up the slack, nearly there

job done, now to get rid of the trees and junk from the tray then prepare it for its border crossing, northbound, to the land of the Eel., the land where bananas are bent.
Just as it was finished the heavens opened up, down came the rain, the eel mobile slipped a bit at the bottom of the paddock, then back out on the road and north to freedom away from the landrover nappers that may have been lurking about.
This is my contribution, standby for part two delivered by quiggers,
John
Please note, The eel, was not using his head as a stop bumper.

Hi Fen , they look like good cars to do up , you have done well!
I was just looking back at the pictures and noticed that the first pic (page 2) of the ute is diff to the last pic (page8)
Was there two utes and the GS for sale? Either way you did good.. Brad
nice cars Fen,,
'specially that one towing;)
A quick update -there will more to come.
A huge thanks to Quiggers and JohnE, who spent the best part of a day, helping me out with this mission, an organising to hang onto the LWB for a bit. They will be lpied with liquor and feast as a thank you when I get down there - heopefully this week.
It was the first time we had physically met, and goes to show what a pair of champions they are, and what a great resource AULRO is, and the type of people and camaraderie it has.
The Ute is different to the one in the original pics. It is miles better - I think I'm going to register and keep it - and get another one for the farm:D Sorry Dad:p
It has already been for a run around the streets here, and surprisingly running pretty well, now to sort out the brakes!!!
The most unbelievable thing - ALL THE ELECTRICS WORK!!! Lucas must've stuffed up and put this one together well.
It's currently being stripped down - I will send further photos today.
Thanks again JohnE and Quiggers - as Jeff Fenech said - youse guys are champions - I love yous all - and owe you both big time:D:D:D
Nice score mate they look good from the photos:cool:
It was a pleasure helping, i thought the wiring in the ute was new, with the new starter solenoid, good work getting it going so quick,
