    Who's owned/driven a 110 AND a 130 ?

I'd be interested ti hear from those who have ownede / or extensive experience of both 110 wagons and 130 Crew Cabs.

Which did you prefer, and why ?

If you were to buy now, which would you buy ?

Driven both for periods of time...

I find both are very similar as they're almost equally as bad at manouvering in tight spaces. Although the turning circle of a 130 is slightly larger, it's not that noticeable.

In the mud, the 130 actually performs better if you've got weight in the rear. It's also slightly better getting through the 'gloop' as chances are your front wheels are out before the rear wheels have enev entered.

Given the choice, I'd probably go for a 130 crew cab over a 110, especially if it's a working / expedition vehicle.

You;re making me think again, I was just considering getting a 110 and getting rid of the 130.

    Cheers

Hiline - as the post says - which do you prefer and why ?

My long term plan (may or may not come to fruition) is to replace the 110 Ute and the Rangie with a 130 CC.

Given the Missus also loves the Rangie however, I may have to find a way to do it without getting rid of the Rangie. Oh what a shame ! LOL.

Got no cash at the moment as I said but at least I;d like to know what to aim for !

Aside - does anyone know if the NEW Defender (ie transit engine 6 speed gearbox, fancy interior) will be offered in a 130 CC and if so, whether they will import them on order into Australia ?

    i'd take the 130 any day over a 110

just so much more versatile with load space
    better ride
    stuff all electrics

the new defender is coming here in the 130
but if its like the last model it will only be a cab chases
you will have to purchase a after market tray

Yeah, I have owned both. 'Daisey' the 130 (300TDi) and 'Kimba' the 110.

The 130 is brillant and I loved Daisey to death. Only sold it because I was forced to by the other half who did not like driving it in the city. Otherwise I would have kept.

I also love the 110, but it is not as practical as the 130, but geez, there aren't too many more vehicles on the market more practical than any Defender.

The 110 is better in the rough stuff than the 130, which can be a bit of a pain when it is tight, but how often is that going to be a problem?

Depends what you are predominantly using it for. For a tourer, you cannot beat the 130.

Good 130s I would say hold their value more than the 110, just due to their fewer numbers.

I had a disco and now have a 130. I have only taken the 130 off road a couple of times but find it better. Due to the length of the wheelbase it seems to soak up the bumps better. The 'cut in' and larger turning circle took some getting used to. The length didn't seem to worry the ramp over as the fender has more ground clearance (the wife keeps reminding me to get side steps!).

Odd. One of the reasons I sold the County was that I thought it was an impractical vehicle.
