Bazz that sounds like a great way to introduce your lad into his first car - thirty odd years ago I started out in a landy series IIa and still own landies.
they are a great car to learn in. My only extra point I would make though is think about putting a roll bar in her, the added safety is worth it I feel.
I hope you both have a ball with it.

Thanks Guys
The Boy hasnt really asked for much as he knows what the costs are, He does have a job at the momment but does not pay that well. He is still at school. I will be putting the money in for him but only as long as his schooling stays to a good standard. I know the little 4 doesnt push out major horse power so that is good, but I am looking at putting power steering (Toyota corolla) and a/c ( Sigma) ( Bloody hot up here in the North West ). I talked to me mate the other night, his brother has some rims so got that sorted. I have just started the extentions to the roll cage as he wants to put seats in the back( Batteries will go underneath ). I have a couple of SAAS seats for the rear, I have placed Sigma seats in the front as they have a perfect seat base to mount to the original rails. Once I have worked out the how to's I will place the working progress in the rigs section.
Thanks

Hi Bazz, welcome to the site and please let us know how you get on with the build. I notice you mention body lift, but even hard-core recommendations for Rovers are for cutting the bodywork not lifting it. On any moderately sane tyre there is plenty of clearance front and rear if the outer body panel is cut back. It also saves a lot of engineering. There were factory fitted 9x 16s (34 inch overall diameter) with only suspension mods on standard (uncut) bodywork.

Gday Steve
Thanks for the info. I have to replace the springs and bushes soon so I may only give it a small lift and cut the Gaurds but will have to ask the boy about cutting his gaurds as he may not want to go that way. I may have tell him that is just the way it goes if he wants the look.
Thanks

G'day Bazz67 :)
If you want a suspensiion lift, go with Parabolic springs as they will give a 1 inch lift as standard, just check that you have enough clearance on the front driveshaft ;) it will give a softer ride, but there will be more body roll, but stiff shockers will cure that. It will instill your son a healthy respect for varying road conditions. and with a vehicle that is of substancial framing and it has that lovely Racing?? gearchange:D
cheers
