    Where's my jetpack?

I'm sure I remember being told as a kid growing up in the 60's-70's that by the time the 21st century arrived, we'd all be flying around to the shops with our jetpacks. Well hello, we're into the 21st century now. I want my jetpack!!

Ahh! Popular Science magazine. It had lots of those predictions.

Where's my personal chopper for flying to work?

Why aren't we living on the moon?

Several years ago Rod Quantock did a segment at the Melbourne Comedy Festival where he rambled on and on about the joys of life if we all had rocket packs. This was shortly before a federal election and after about 15min talking about rocket packs and how great they would be he concluded by urging everyone to picket parliament house the day after the election and demand "where are our rocket packs" because that is what the government would LEAST expect!

That man is a certifiable comic genius.

I don't understand? Do you guys not have your jet packs yet?? I admit mine took a little longer than expected to arrive but the dealer blamed it on a mechanical recall on the Thrust master regulator, apparently there were commuters in Europe flying round in circles for days.

I really liked the style of the British jet packs but I decided against getting one when I heard that Lucas did the electrics.

Well lets face it, british jet packs were ahead of their time back then, but a friend of mine just got a good condition second hand one and has had all sorts of problems.

Uneven throttle response, chaffing harness, last week he nearly lost his wife off the back they are really not well designed for a pillion.

I had a jet pack, it came with the Fiat, wouldn't start and rusted out in weeks
