Need access to a 52mm socket.

Does anyone in NSW have a 52mm socket? I just need to do the bearings and am now willing to travel to use it. If not then I will have to ring around the workshops after easter to get it done.

Do you mean a Hub Nut Spanner

if so you should be able to get one from SuperCrud, Repco, etc and I think that they are the same as Toyo Crusher & J**p so sayeth the Mob in Melbourne, $7.70 + p+p from them

Thats the one. They don't have them down this way

On later cars with conventional hubnuts, the bearings are done up to 61Nm then backed off 90 deg, then retightened to 4Nm.

On Td5 modesl they use a difrferent system. In either case one would need a socket (or modified hubnut spanner) which can be used with a torque wrench.

I have one in cheapish 3/4" drive socket set I bought.

I bought mine from a British Offroad in Qld. Think it was about $11. I'm sure they would post you one. It's not big so shouldn't be much in postage.

try Eagle SMF on orange grove rd, liverpool, they are a kokon distributor - they will have one

As others have mentioned elsewhere, you could change to the conventional hub nuts which are much easier to work with.
