In this day and age, it’s a waste of time fitting glass breaking detectors as its usually a mongrel job trying to get wire to the sensors plus if you fit a wireless controlled alarm panel and fit all your detectors on centre walls of the house, facing towards the the external walls, not only can you cover all the windows in a room with one detector, because the detectors are fitting on centre walls, the cabling is easily reached as it’s nearly always in higher access areas of the roof space.
Also, if you get a wireless controlled alarm, there is usually an output from the alarm that allows you to control the garage doors.
Another little stunt is to get an alarm with programmable outputs and program two of these output to pulse a relay that can be connected to a small light or LED fitted to the siren cover and you use this to indicate when the alarm is turning on or off and then you don’t need to have the siren beep at 2 am when you come home. neighbours just love that.
Cheers.
Are you having a Security company Look after your place ie alarm responce while you are away?
Dont expect the Police or anybody else to care if the alarm is going off its head.......
Not much point having an alarm that calls your mob when you are 400km away:)
No worries landrovermick, if you need any help just post your questions here and I’ll try to be of some assistance.
I was a licensed installer and a part time lecturer at TAFE on security for those going for the installers licence in NSW for about 10 years so if I can help just yell.
Cheers
If you want quality and reliability get NESS products.
There’s quiet a few alarm brands out there, some good, some are nothing more than cheap junk and it can be hard to know what's what.
After using a few different brands, when I was fitting, I found EDMs to be about the most reliable and the most flexible when it came to setting up for different situations.
It's also the one I have protecting my place now.
But that’s just my opinion.
trust me they wont be in any greater hurry than anyone elses place... General Duties police are just uniformed report takers
the highway patrol may speed to get here - so they can drive fast - but then theyll try and throw the job at the GD's when there get here if there aint anyone here, and the detectives if there is someone caught. - theres no investigation in writing a traffic ticket... he he he
