Im after the wireing Harness that plugs into main Loom on car, they are usally about 400mm long but you still need to wire them into a trailer socket on the car.....

I tried to get one for the D2 and rang just about right around AUS with no luck after being told by Southern Land Rover that i could get one but would have to wait a month on back order out came the test light 7core wiring and a trailer plug all 4 20 dollars

Its A DIY and all the wiring needed is available from jaycar for about $30 including the screwblock terminals and jiffy boxes to seal them in. and about $10 for a socket from say supercheap.

or do it on the cheap and use spade connecters and double end spades available at supercrap for less than about $30 the lot including the socket.

thanks blokes....I dont mind doing the old twitch & Solder bit, but I would rather just plug & go....... I will have a think about over a beer or three and see what happens

The plugs that holden/ford/mazda/toyota/nissan (and some Landies) use on most of their commertials are just your standard Hella plugs available from an Auto Elec or Bursons, Repco etc.

While your at your reputable auto retailer (not Supercrap or Autobarn) pick your self up a good quality Hella 7 pin socket (flat or round what ever your trailer is) as it will then pretty much last forever as long as you mount it some where it wont get knocked off also get good quality 3mm cable as there is less voltage drop and will not corrode like the rubbish they sell at supercrap.

Also just for a little tip, when wiring your trailer or trailer plug, get about an extra 500mm or so of cable and tie it up further down the line where it wont be in the way as when someone (I normally blame a mate) forgets to put the plug in and it gets wrecked on the ground you have more cable to repair it.

Same if you borrow a trailer with an unusually short cable you can just unbolt the socket and cable tie it to the draw bar so it doesnt get ripped off when you go around a corner.

It will cost more than $20 (maybe around $30 to $40) for quality parts and quality cable but it would be well worth it.
