Yep, use a Core of Balsa with a slab of Jarrah glued to each side. Job done.[bigrolf]

Now for some good news, I tried the little bottle of wood hardener out and it actually worked, can't remember if I rinsed it when I did spare bottle, or maybe I knocked the bit blocking the nozzle off while handling it, but it was very handy to treat another three soft spots I found.
I was reading about this or similar product on a Woodworking Forum a couple of years ago. General consensus appeared to be then it was really Selleys wood glue. ie.Aquadhere rings a bell.
I have no opinion either way, my gifted container dried out so I never got around to trying it out. It was already a used bottle when I got it & I never pursued it further.
I just installed the second engine in a jeep wrangler in two weeks, getting pretty good at it now......
Fired up the first one and the oil instantly milkshaked. I suspect it had many unhappy bits inside after it had been drowned while running. To their credit the wreckers had another engine here in 4 days, didn't lessen the effort to replace it again though :-(

Tote
It seems to be a polymer carried by a solvent deep into the fibres of the wood. MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET (hobeca.co.nz)
It seems to do the job as I only found 3 soft bits in the lot I treated, but I suspect that was due to me pushing the screwdriver and putty knife into the timber away from me, so the parts that were soft needed a pick pulled towards me to clean them out. They were pretty small, I think dentists have pro'ly seen larger cavities.

Maybe that is how Selleys Aqua works?Quote:

I needed new batteries for my Victa Enviromower, i.e., 2 x 12v 12AH AGM SLA. So I ordered them last week. They should slide in beside each other into a plastic housing.
They arrived today. New ones on the left, old on the right. Same part nos, same labelled capacity.
