My washing machine stops mid cycle and you need to give it a sharp shove to start it again. Is a balance sensor that plays up. Of course you cannot buy the sensor
Old lady next door was really upset . The service people had come down to look at her washing machine that was making very strange and loud noises. She was told it was the main bearings and they would have to take the machine away and replace them. It was going to cost money that she couldn't afford so I said I would have a look at it.
The noise was a very metallic 50 cycle buzz . Very unlike a main bearing.
Tilting the machine over and having her turn the power on and off again I could see that it was a large solenoid that wasn't pulling in properly because one spring had come unclipped .
A piece of fence wire shaped to a long hook, and I was able to pull it back and reposition it and everything worked perfectly.
Zero cost and about 5 minutes.
Years ago,after crossing the Simpson in the new Maya gold D2a we had,I noticed oil around the diff pumpkin.
The dealer in Alice had a look and said it all has to come apart to fix it,a couple of days off the road once they have the parts.FFS,I thought as we didn’t really have the time to wait around.A week at least.They topped up the oil level.
I crawled under the vehicle and found most of the diff bolts loose.
Tightened them up,level was fine,it didn’t leak again.

Easy as eh? Since my printer is acting up craply I can/t see that being an option & also send them a photo of said cable/tape. Yer right! I have described it to different Canon reps but it isn't difficult ffs. 40 cm long x 3mm wide with a tiny spring on one end & nothing on the other. Easy peasy roight?
Already we are getting in to an E-mail war. Told them that they either send some bloke/woman out to check it over & fix it or it is going back in it's box for a refund.
He says with fingers crossed.
