Gahhh!
I bought another CD-ROM, this time from Germany. I just tried it out and it jams when the tray comes out about 10mm. I've opened it up but can't see where the problem is. Again. I can't send it back.

I beginning to believe that this thread is as informative as the Product Safety Recalls Australia :D
Ron can you ask your wife to do the shopping? :D
I believe Choice magazine wanted to do an article on Ron and his faulty goods purchases, but decided the magazine would be too heavy to post
About a month ago, I ordered a part from the UK for my Stihl line trimmer (Stihl in Oz don't carry it). The parcel arrived today.
Too bad the parcel contained a part for a Dyson vacuum cleaner. :(

You have all the luck Ron. Can't say I've ever had anything as glaringly wrong as that delivered to me.
On the subject of Stihl line trimmers though, I bought a 2 stroke petrol one from the local dealer a while back. Worst bit of gear I ever bought - it has to be the most temperamental thing I've ever owned. I could only ever get it started on the odd occasion. Usually after a lot of swearing, it went back into the shed. I've since given it to my young bloke, and I only use Ryobi battery powered line trimmers now - far more reliable. ;)
The Stihl chainsaw that I bought over 20 years ago still starts on virtually the first pull every time though. Go figure ................ :o
In other news, that roof rack I purchased from you is still perfect.
I've long given up on small petrol-engined tools. My Stihl electric line trimmer is 25 years old this year and still going strong. I only had to buy a new line spool because part of it broke.
I use a Victa EnviroMower battery-powered lawn mower. it has a line trimmer attachment. I picked both up, near new, for $100, usual price for the two, $469 (mower) + $200 (trimmer).
I don't have a brush cutter, it's an edge trimmer. I've heard Honda a very good but I doubt I'll ever buy another infernal combustion-engined tool. I've had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders and torn the right one again after falling down some stairs (I was sober - I stepped back whilst taking a photo). I won't be getting the shoulder fixed.
