    doggone dog

Or is it just a case of giving a dog a bad name?

Just think with all those doggone teeth gone, its bark will be worse than its bite? no!

    Cheers Arthur

It would be nice if its bark was worse than its bite! My wife's arms and legs are covered in bruises.

I bought a kit from the UK to fit a new head unit into the P38A. One of these. It had faulty soldering on one of the leads under the heatshrink.

Tomorrow we were supposed to pick up a Labrador pup from Guide Dogs NSW/ACT to raise until it was ready for guide dog training.

Guide Dogs just rang to tell us the dog is faulty and has to be returned to the breeder.

Only I couldn't even get a dog that was a good 'un!
Remember that we got a replacement dog from Guide Dogs that turned out to have faulty teeth. She is now 7 months old.

Well, today we had to take her to the vet owing to her limping and the fact she can't climb two steps into the house. It turns out she has a badly slipped patella (patella luxation) and it will need an operation - cost about $2500. It seems the other leg is also affected and will also need surgery. It is, we are told, congenital.

We'll go to see Guide Dogs NSW tomorrow but I suspect they will put her down. A guide dog would need to be in perfect health and not have leg problems. Whether they'll suggest she'd be OK as a companion dog remains to be seen. I'll miss the little beast - she's my shadow at home.

    It looks like they will.

She's at Guide Dogs NSW and will have the operation(s) on Thursday - they need to borrow the tools from Bondi Vet. (Maybe she'll be on TV!)

I was surprised when the vet said they don't put them down, they fix 'em up. They've only ever put one dog down. I'd have thought that they'd make an economic decision - I would have.

Hmm, it seems the little dog needs more work and they are going to keep her at Guide Dogs for a month. She needs an another op on the other rear leg plus one on a front leg. She must have been in a fair bit of pain to not be able to walk up two steps at home.

They will be giving her physiotherapy.
