Like the PM gets his/hers sent in a traditional Red Box so the Legal fraternity had their BRIEFS in a Brief Case.

Faulty by association?

Our daughter bought us a new stovetop kettle (bloody expensive - I wouldn't have bought it).

Anyway, instead of a whistle, it has two reeds in the spout that vibrate when the steam passes through the spout. It sounds like a diesel train.

It lasted about 2 weeks before one of the reeds vibrated enough to break off so it no longer whistled (dieseled?). Fortunately, the supplier replaced it once we sent a photo of the reed sitting in the spout behind the safety mesh.

OMFG! It runs in the Family & it is hereditary. Poor Lass.

An electric kettle. Cordless, wot sits on a base that puts the volts inna the water and makes it bubble & hot.
Simple mission ? Happened to be in Aldi, saw one for $49 on specials and reckoned it would make a replacement for our working but rusting... stainless steel one.

SWMBO gave the thumbs up emoji to the picture I sent... came home,... tried it out...and, worked out why it didn't make the CHOICE short list.. or the long one.

Spout it weird wide thing, so water spreads out, lid hard to take off / on push-fit not hinged (missed that!) and it obstructs the flow AND, it's a 'pyramid' shape, so more angle needed to pour the last half litre.


On the Bright Side, someone at Good Sammy's is getting a nice new kettle !

Tomorrow it's off to find a cheap one that's designed better. (not difficult)

Not your fault in any way Ron, it had made a few bad squeaky bearing sounds the week before so its no surprise.

But the coincidence between you being in the car

All I will say is its a hell of allot hard to get the dash out of a 06-09 than it is out of a 02-06, that darn passenger airbag assembly......

Have you found the aircon yet?
