When my younger son was at a technical high school it was claimed he just had to walk past something for it to stop working.... and he is still hopelessly unmechanical.

I cannot believe it is still happening !!!!
it obviously doesn't rub off, as those of use that have met you and shaken your hand haven't been afflicted.
My other half, has a touch of that, each time i find some adventure and go on it, she or no 1 son either break or can't start piece of machinery.
When i did the Falklands job, they couldn't start the lawn mower so she bought a new one( didn't think of the ride on, or the spare mower i had in the shed), Why couldn;t they start it, because there was a stick stuck next to the new blade i had put on.
this last trip to the desert she emailed me and said they couldn't get the brushcutters to start( have two) so she bought a new one, it didn't work, so i told her to take it back and get the money back, so no she waited till i got back and had rung the warranty line, so they delivered a new one, and didn't want the broken one back, so now have two new ones, 2 old ones.

Each time i got back i got everything to work straight away.

I don't think I want any of your Grange, Ron.

I don't think I could face the disappointment at that first sip.

    Cheers

    You mongrel! You jinxed me!

Would you believe that Elisabeth and I were underwhelmed by the Grange. She didn't even bother with a second glass.

Well, I went to Bunnings. No luck. I had to buy my own extra blades.

Jaycar exchanged the faulty torch. While I was there I bought an inside/outside digital thermometer for the fridge.

It won't work on the outside position.

And if the temp gets above body temp, the display goes blank (I tried it cupped in my hand) so it's not much use for the Rangie - the cabin temp or even the ambient temp would get over 38 deg quite often.

    I don't believe it!

I bought a new sealed beam headlight and a new matching driving light insert for the Nissan Civilian yesterday - both were Hansa brand.

I fitted them and then found the one of terminals on the driving light wasn't soldered on. It fell off.

I also noticed that when fitted both lights didn't sit vertically (as in the word "TOP" was slight off to the left). I thought this was a just the difference between sealed beams of today vs 20 years ago.

I went back to Bursons and got a new driving light insert of the same brand. I fitted it and it did align vertically. It looks like both Hansa lamps bought yesterday were made incorrectly so I'll have to go back againa and get them to replace the headlight as well.

You blokes do realise that without me, you'd end up with the faulty goods!
