    Oh, how was her toe?

I remember taking our 3 yo to hospital with a broken arm. It took 8 hours before she was seen.

toe is good only needed a clean and stitch, hand was the worry, i had a similar injury to my hand when i was almost the same age and the doctors first reaction was to amputate my hand but luckily my parents demanded other opininions and was told about revolutionary new micro surgery otherwise i wouldnt be typing now. she cut herself on a sheet of stainless steel , we are still trying to figure out how it happened even though there were 5 adults within metres of her.

Sorry to hear about you daughter, Dandenong Hospital is not the best.
Kids are resilient, my daughter spent 3 weeks in the burns ward at Princess Margaret in Perth and has the scars on her legs to prove it, I still shudder when I think of that weekend, she doesn't care and is not put off by her scars.
I had a good experience at Cowes hospital, had to visit after mangling my finger on the GP weekend. I got preferential treatment over the drunk motorcyclist with a busted leg .

Really glad to hear it went well. As you say, you feel it worse when your kids are hurt than when you are.

I met a fellow once who had accidentally amputated his hand - all except the skin on the far side, in a sawmilling accident. The hand was microsurgically re-attached - worked 99% (he couldn't forcibly separate his fingers). I met him 20 years ago, and the surgery must have been 5-10 years before that.

I trust your daughter does even better.

Glad to hear that she will be alright and she will get over it much quicker than an adult would.

I have been to Dande Hospital many times and found them ok to getting me into a bed but then have to wait hours on hours to see a doctor that then just wants to do the same thing that all the others have done previously.

Im surprised you couldnt have just taken her to Wonthaggi as it is a great hossy but they might not have had the specialist care there but it would have been a better place to wait for a specialist to come.

All I can say is as much as it pains us and them when these things happen, we cant wrap them in cotton wool as then they lose their ability to bounce when they fall.

All the best to you and your family mate and hope shes back playing before too long again.

And to top it all off, with all the running around i've been doing (and not going slow either) my alternator is showing signs of trouble, dash lights starting to flicker and occasionally the tacho stops working for a few seconds
