Good on you, I like it, hope it's got the 2 1/4 petrol engine in it

I just hope there are some Series III Landies left for sale in about a year or so (it will take me that long to drop the question to the good woman, no I don't mean marriage I mean "dear would you like another Land Rover?")

    Best regards

Yeah I was thinking the bar does look like a military type, but the rest of it including the colour looks pretty stock. Except for the freewheeling hubs which look like the ones with the fiddly little locking mechanism.

So no you can't have him or his Landie, they belong on this side of the forum

LMAO, well i got her off EBAY and i dont think there was any competion because it was under accessories not cars. here is the info he had for her

For sale classic shape 1973 landrover series 3 with roadwothy. In good condition with a few bumps and srcatches as would be expected in a landrover of the age.
sold in good running order, great fun car, with all original engine et al.
    Drive away and keeps driving.

Q: G'day, Can you tell me a bit more about your Landie? It's a bit hard to tell from the picture, but is it a 4-cylinder motor? What is the history of the car? Is there any rust? Has it done much beach work? Does it need any particular mechanical work done soon? How many seats has it got? Do you have any more photos? Sorry for all the questions, but I am interested in your car. Cheers, Mick.
A: Hi thanks for the questions. yes it is a 4 cylinder motor,i bought the car in charters Towers a couple of years back has had about 3 owners including myself. There is some superficial rust on chassis but none penetrating so genrally no.Havent done much beach work used it mainly for outback trips. The landrover is mechanically sound and used to get me to work daily ,is sold with roasdworthy rego to 11/05/07 .Has a bench seat in front so 3 seats and 2 troop benches for back not fitted as have been using as a ute with roof off.sorry havent got more photos as camera bust but is as pictures show. Interior is clean and original. There are some spare parts included clutch, brake pads bits and pieces really.

he emailed me before and it had the rear cylinders replaced today, thats all that was needed for road worthy, Rego is up next month but what the hell i say as to me it was a bargin at $1600

Looks good. The military bullbar and the rear bench seats do suggest it may have been military - in which case it should not be too hard to find the evidence with a bit of inspection. But they may also just indicate that a previous owner bought a few military bits - the seats and the bullbar bolt onto a civilian one with at most five minutes with a drill.
