Ahhhhhhhhhhhh yes, I know of them, but my earliest recollection is of what we called a steamroller but was probably a single cylinder diesel engine that had a massive flywheel and perhaps a 5 foot stroke that fired every 30 seconds or so but kept that flywheel turning. Magic!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep! They were called steam rollers long after the steam was replaced by diesel. Ditto with steam shovels.
