I have just come back from a 1035km trip in my ladies Prado, 178lt tank ran out at 1017km @ 130kph average speed - legal speed here in NT
so got 17.8 Lt per 100 km
94 Disco 3.9V8i, 6000km round trip two years ago averaged 16 lt per 100km at 115 average speed
Considering both have the aerodynamics of a besser brick, both are over 2 tonnes in weight, both are constant 4wd and both are autos, I think both vehicles are quite economical.
Landy far superior off bituman - Prado has better bituman road manners and a better A/C
Cheers Blythe
I was going to say "buy a diesel!"
But on second thoughts about this I will stay out of it :p :banban:
The old man in his D3 V6 petrol recored in the trip he just did up North 10ltr's to 100Km. Thats dam good for a petrol on the highway. He traveled 750Km round trip and consumption stayed the same on the way up and back.
Around town though it is around 19ltr's to 100KM.
4.0 Bosch V8
Straight thru, Unichip, Intake Mods
33" MT's with 4.10 Diffs
Highway avg 17.8 L/100k
Mixed avg 20.5 L/100k
Once cracked 50 L/100k in the bush, 13k trip.
100L tank avg just under 400k
Take off speedo correction error (P38 pick up is via ABS) of approx 12% brings Highway avg down to about 15.8 L/100k - not bad for an underpowered & thirsty, evil handling pig iron barge....
