Morcha,
If you have the radio controls on the steering wheel then you can go to the "settings menu" but if you don't then I don't see how they can allow you to program them yourself. Maybe what they mean is that they will program them for you.
You can choose the following options in the "Setting Menu":
Auto door locking - on or off
Overspeed warning - set it to a kph that you want the chime to occur at (eg. 115kph, the chime occurs then will stop annoying you after a short time)
Headlights off delay - 30, 60, 120, 240 sec
Dipping mirrors - on or off
Lazy entry - on or off
km or miles (not that miles is too useful to you)
Some of these might not be in a SE spec but you can only ask.
Chris
Jamo, I do a lot of contractual stuff (construction) and the rule is, if its ambiguous then you can interpret it anyway you like, its up to the other party to come up with a plausible answer, but I'm relying on their customer service ethic.
And Chris, as you say, you can only ask. Don't ask, don't get!
They rang today to say they want the car back for a day while they reprogram it and lend me something to drive. I asked for a turbo RRS but we'll see!
The sales guy sounded quite sheepish so I think they forgot to check that it work when adding the audio controls.
Mind you, who's to say that "he" from xyz dealership (and there's only 2 in Brisy and they're both Austral) is following this thread anyway!
Cheers.
Ha ha, construction is a bit different (I have recently had a builder try something on me - poor fool!)
Good luck! It's always the party who wishes to gain who has to justify why!
Good luck with your D3. You'll have a lot of pleasurable motoring. Any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask.
No wonder I'm a cynical bugger!
After having the car for 24 hours the dealer tells me that LR have changed the way that these functions work. In previous cars (<= 2006) all they (the dealer Service Dept) had to do was enable settings in the trip computer and away you go. They're telling me that they tried that and it didn't work. LR have told them that in the 2007 model its a hardware change.
They're now waiting on LR to advise whether they'll give me the functionality as described in the book. I did point out that there's no qualifier in the book like "available on some models" or some such.
This is definitely something that buyers of new Disco 3's need to sort out prior to signing up. I wonder, if I paid 82k for the diesel instead of 64k drive away for the petrol whether it'd work? Cynical again!
Mind you, this is a nothing issue for me, I love the Disco 3!
Cheers,
Mark
Dude, read Page 2 in the Discovery 3 Owner's Handbook.
I sorted this out by buying an HSE and optioning it up. If you wanted the features, then you should have paid for them like the rest of us!Quote:

As for the HSE, I already spent about 10k more than I could afford fulfilling this dream (read mid life crisis).
Cheers.
Well you won't be disappointed!:D There's enough gadgets to learn on the D3 anyway, and plenty more you can add later!
:D :D :D
Back in April I picked up my shiny D3 but was disappointed to find that a lot of the trip computer functionality that I assumed (from the book and test drives) was standard in an SE was not there.
Well bugger me if they didn't ring today to say they'd got the kit and will fit it when the car's being serviced in a couple of weeks.:D
