Toyota Now World's No: 1 Car Maker

I hired a 100 series Tojo recently. I very quickly found myself wishing I hadn't. I didn't have any confidence that the Tojo would get me through the country I was driving in. (deep sand). It did in the end, with 15 psi in the tyres, low range 2nd gear and a lot of revving.

I was watching the fuel guage drop as we struggled. My other car, an NP Pajero, could breeze through the same country, but she's been pensioned off for the D3 and that's why we hired the Tojo - the D3 is for my retirement, not to wreck at work!.

The Tojo was a pov pack, but even making allowances for that, it was still a bucket of sh*t. Gutless, thirsty, with a ride like the suspension was mounted on sponges, it just left me cold. Now I know why I never bought another Toyota after my first one in 1973 (a Corolla).

I have owned a few in the past, that why I am in the Land Rover now.:D

Don't know about you guys but a mate of mine and myself both feel that Tojo's all have the same smell about them (plastic) and the dash has been interchanged from one car to another. (the corolla dash and Prado):o

We had a guy in our club that upgraded from the 80 to the 100 and now doesn't go off-road as it blew its front diff on the first club trip to JanOwen park:eek: .

Even 4wd monthly blew a front diff in a 100 series but that was blamed on previous drivers (4wdoty 2005 D3 won):D

They didn't bag the reliability of the brand like they did when the D3 had the fault (4wdoty 2006 100 won):mad:

Look the fender comes in all types of confugurations, short, long, single cab, wagon, dual cab, la la la. Simple design works fine. If tojo did the same with the troopies then there would be a competition.

The only thing that upsets me is its obvious the number of Idiots is on the rise;)

Howard Johnson's car anybody? Or a big Mc cruiser? I did like the original 3 speed Landcruiser the Navy had, 290+ ci engine, of course we had no fuel bill worries.
The Toyota Motor Company, obviously has not seen my landlord struggle in the paddocks with his Hilux, as I breeze on by in the Series 3.

I did enjoy the Celica I owned for a while, nice sporty little car.
