    10 years on

    how time flies,,,

Mrs Pedro informs me its 10 years to the day(how do women remember these things?) I bought BUB91.

so at 284,000 kays, of which we've driven 184,000, (thats 36 oil and filter changes)
its been across the simpson, to tassie, and to townsville. Its been rained on snowed on baked and fried. Its towed race cars, dead cars, horses, boats and other Landrovers.(of course its towed yotas!) We've slept in it, eaten off it, and cooked under it(carefully!). The numbers of CD's played in it would be truly mind boggling. Its had 6 flats, a rear wheel bearing, one fuel pump, one maf sensor, a heater matrix and an input shaft, and, er, 3 rides on a flat top. Its done 1200klm in 12 hours and 7 kays in 4. Its "phonebox" record is 13.

and people tell me its worth how much?

Good on you for making it to a mile stone no Jap owner will ever get to.

You might want to give her a bath, polish and a drink of premium.

10 years owning one Land Rover, you've done well. In that time, I have owned 7 Rangies and 1 Disco, I have a tendancy to get bored with things quickly

Aquarangie I had for 5 years prior to it's 'mishap' (93 Vogue), still the best rangie I have owned. Current rig (87 Hi-Line) I've had for 18 months, but I have a perfectly good 76 Rangie sitting there collecting leaves and bird crap

Must do something with it, too good to be sitting around

Err - are you talking about km? If not, I'm missing something.

My (ex) GQ patrol (now owned by a mate who continues to tow a boat with it everyday) has now done well over 500,000 on the original untouched engine and gearbox. The rear LSD is still as tight as a drum. (Its never been on a tilt tray either).

I dont meant to downplay Pedro's effort at all and the sentimental value of the memories attached to his Disco must be fantastic but it irritates me when LR owners critisise 'Jap' vehicles. Maybe its because it creates the impression that LR owners think they have something to 'prove'. Maybe because it reminds me of the uninformed critisism that 'Jap' owners often make of Land Rovers........
    end of rant....
