At least Jetstar uses australian pilots.

Let's not forget that these guys don't want anyone breaking jets. They are very expensive, and if you deck them it stuffs your business.

Despite starting with old md-90's I believe the Jetstar fleet is virtually all new, unlike qantas.

Plus... I want an airline terrorists CANT afford a ticket on!!!!
And this airline is a subsidary of Qantas, wonder if Qantas is any better?

Not in my experience, I've had to fly QANTAS at times, locally and internationally. Outbound the flight crews are soo nice, but coming back to Oz, they must take grumpy pills...(which also makes them invisible).

But if you pay enough to ride in the pointy end, well, that's an entirely different story been there

The pointy end yes that's definately suck up service, but at a price.
I'm fly Webjet to NZ later in the year and Emerites on the return.
sort of, roughing it over and then experiencing how rough it really was going over intially on the return

It will be announced today that Tiger Airways will set up in Melbourne and run domestic routes here.
I've flown with them in Asia and they seem quite good - for a budget mob.
May give Jetstar and Virgin a reason to look at their service and pricing if nothing esle.
