[QUOTE=MickG;528973]Just to add more confusion have you considered anything from the Silvertone range? I just fitted 285/65R16 Silverstone M117 Sports and they are heaps better for what I use then for than the BFG muds I ran before.....thicker side wall, more aggresive tread, MUCH MUCH easier to balance making for MUCH better on road handling over the 265/75R16 BFG muds I had before......and......much cheaper. Happy if you want to check them out on my truck before you make any decisions.
Aye, Mick[/QU
yeah will be good to have a look at em,,,,,, will try get to meet thurs night if not will see ya at next one

I have the MTZ Mickey Thompsons on my D3 - a brilliant tyre. Quieter than the Cooper STT, better wet road grip, great offroad. They do wear fairly quickly though.
Cheers,
Gordon
Any new Pics Gordon??
(apologies to disco_thrasher)
I'd go the MTR. I'm still trying to find a good tyre to swap mine out for, but have not found any. They're relatively quiet for that type of tyre, they don't vibrate like a muddie, they have arguably the strongest carcass on the market, they give excellent traction and they wear extremely well. They are also a proven tyre, having been around for the last 5 or so years, and I will still argue are the best compromise tyre on the market for a tourer. The MTZ is still very new although getting very good reviews, much like the Cooper ST did before they all started throwing tread blocks and delaminating, and the Procomps I think are built on an excellent carcass from all accounts, but I thing their tread patterns (apart from the X-terrain) are not the greatest.
