I was told by Autobarn, Supercheap or someone that they would order in the 1L containers so long as I bought the whole box as they didn't want to get stuck with them. I think it was a box of 6.

Supercheap list it, but don't have stock, and don't want to order it (!) as they have to buy a quantity and no-one (else!) ever asks for it. Repco didn't have it either.

Anyone ever bought it close to Perth, or able to suggest somewhere that might have it or be able to order it?

I even went as far as phoning Castrol, and amazingly they can't even pull a list by state or postcode of who had bought any lately, and they don't list the 4l size either!

Yeah, Supacheap were happy to order me the whole box of 6 too.

Daft thing is, their card on the oil shelf showed 1l and 4l, but the computer only showed the 1l as orderable, and Castrol show only 1l, 20l and 100l (!) quantities.

At $20/l, it better smooth the gearchange out!

Hmm...shame we couldn't do a group buy for those local....I bet that would halve the 1l price.

Mobil do an equivalent synthetic auto tranny fluid you can buy it direct from their distribution depot in Welshpool/Kewdale

Syntrans is not a synthetic ATF. It's not an ATF as far as I know. It's a synthetic manual transmission fluid. That's how it's categorised on the Castrol website.

I bought mine once from AutoOne and later on from Repco when they had a 20% off sale and they had some in stock that time. It seems hard to come by!

I had the same problem,coulnt find it anywhere.
Take your own container around to Southern Landrover,they will sell it to you by the litre,cant remember how much they charged,(the missus picked it up) but nothing like $20 litre!!!!!

Ah, fantastic idea - bought my D3 there, so they should be happy to help as they'll want to keep my custom for servicing that.
