I live 3.5km from work. Most days I ride a mountain bike. Some days I work from home.
Saves the landie for the fun stuff.
Riding my mountain bike takes about 7 minutes. Driving takes 3 - 5 minutes depending on traffic lights.
Live in Doreen & work in the City. I usually leave home around 6am and if taking the freeways i.e. Craigieburn Bypass, WWR, Citylink, I get to work by 6:40am. If taking Plenty Rd starting in Doreen into Clifton Hill, then around the top end of town to Docklands, bet on 1hr+ each way.
The train from Epping is 48mins to Southern Cross Station then a 7min walk around into Flinders St. Train saves lots of money so is the usual method of commuting.

I'm a cyclist too...
20-25 mins over the 3.6km to uni (times improving though!), and that includes 4 sets of traffic lights - most of which are timed to turn to red just for me...

It takes the same amount of time by bus, it's cheaper, and keeps me fit, so I'm happy.
About 15mins ATM but will become 30-40mins within the next 12mths. That's the price I'm happy to pay to get out of the burbs.
I work about 6ks from home (West End), 5-10mins tops. Although I am out and about a bit sometimes.
Used to work at home, but now I have to put pants on![]()
