If it is any of any interest to the Aulro members, a person on Newstart Allowance (the dole, the rock'n roll), is expected to apply for and to accept, if offered, "any suitable work". One of the criteria of determining suitable work is that it is within one and a half hours travel each way from your declared usual residence by any means of transport. Your payments may be postponed, suspended, or cancelled if you refuse any such work offered.
