Poll: Average Commute to Work/School per Day

I have been pretty vocal about how much i hate my commute to and from work everyday, (last night it was just a touch under 2 hours) but im wondering how mine compares to others.

So the question is: On average how long do you spend each day commuting?

Obviously if you work shift etc then there will be wild fluctuations in travel time, just try to work out an average and this is time taken from door to door.

In Perth trip from Ballajura (north of city) to Hay St (CBD) depending on traffic congestion varies between 25 mins and 40 mins one way averages around 30mins.

In terms of traffic congestion usually only one spot in entire journey where it takes a bit of time to move through the intersection.

Generally find Perth has good road network, few congestion spots (NOR anyway) and travel time comparable to Melbourne where l lived for 40 years is about 50%

I love working from 'home'. Feel sorry for all the people driving past in the morning on their way down to town . It adds a lot onto your work-day when you calculate travel time.

by train door to door is 40 minutes.. including the 10 minute walk at the work end...

im trying to cycle more and more... managing 2-3 times a week thats about 10 minutes in the car to the cycle path (at edgewater, Northern suburbs perth) then 50 minutes riding to work... thats for 24km.. so an hour all up..

When was the last time you lived in Melbourne? commute times have easily doubled in the last 5 years i reckon.

Peak hour now starts at 6am to 10:30am and 3pm to 7:30pm ... its really, really bad now!!
