but if you saw the state of me at the end of the 24k's each way... that would cheer you up! takes me at least 30 mins to cool down... (im only a slightly built guy weighing in at 108Kg's with another 5-8kgs in my bag! you have to feel sorry for my bike!) and if you heard me wheezing up the hills that i have to go over, then you would be that cheery you would laugh! (i sound like an asthmatic deisel)

    Thanks

    Steve

Depends on which office I work out of,

    Gabba 1/4 hr (best) - 1 1/2hr (worst) 1/2hr (normal)

    Northgate 3/4 hr to 2hrs

Sunshine Coast 2hrs to 3 hrs

Gold Coast 1/2 hr to 1 hr

I tend to choose the Gabba the most BUT if I am really luck I get to start work at Shailer Park or Daisy Hill then it is under 5 minutes

I don't bike or walk as require a car to lug all my crap around.

Umm, about 15 metres. How long does that take to drive?

Of course, I live in my caravan, in the big shed, on the mates farm.
So if it's mechanical work he needs done, I'm pretty close to work.
Tractor work, that's parked in the shed.
I could tow the van further from the..... nah. Then I'd have to walk further to the fridge.

If you want the other way round, and the closest to work?

1990\91, Engineer on One and All, the engine room access hatch, was in the deck of my cabin, RIGHT BESIDE MY PILLOW.

Strange. I could sleep like a baby, with that "thing" hammering away under my pillow all night. A minor course change, and a different movement over the waves, and I had my feet on the deck and one foot in my overalls before I had my eyes open.

    Shorty.

At the moment it takes 2 hours there and 2 hours back.

Although I only go up and back once per week and stay on site while I'm there.

Currently trying to get something closer to home or something much further away and move house to suit.

For me I can go from the office to home and back again in just under 5 min.

The Defender, on the other hand does around 1hr 15min commute each way with the wife.

My commute works out to an average of 14.3 minutes per day. I travel 50 minutes by car to airport, 60 minutes wait before flight, 80 minute flight, wait to get off plane then 3 minute drive to Fire Station.
BUT------------as I only go to work once every 28 days for 14 days then repeat commute time on return, it brings the average down a bit.

I do about 35min each way, so that's between 1 to 1 &1/2 a day from Helensburgh to Peakhurst, not bad really.
