    D2 Money box

Mrs Pedro had a problem the other night,,
D2 no start! It had been parked at work in the same area for nearly a year now but it still seemed like the infamous D2 immobiliser problem,, moved 5 metres and started fine.
Next morning at home, no start again! Not Good when its in your back yard!
emailed a few knowledgeable chaps(thanks Scott and Simon) but no joy.
so I'm just sitting there fuming,, when I THUMP the thing into P and I hear a "click",, hmm
    It Lives!
a quick squizz at Rave and the adjustment looks easy enough, but for some reason I pull up the gear console first and all these shiney coins stare up at me.
    $3.10
    to be exact.
the correct weight for a schooner.

I understand the coin tray in the dash now.

It would also pay to check the linkage underneath on the transmission. The A/C leaks onto it and can cause it to stick.

whenever i park my car in the parking lot at bi-lo in palm beach the same thing happens LR sent a guy out and he tried to explain to me its some magnetic force interference which sounds like a load of but a couple weeks later a went back to the same car park not in the disco and there was another disco there same problem got speaking to her and she said its happened to her about a dozen times in this car park [you would think she would have stopped parking there after the 2nd time]
lucky i have never had the problem since .....is it really magnetic force...
sounds a bit allien like to me??????????

Aaaah. Was it not starting because the computer didn't see the transmission in P or N.

    Bingo.
I might get some soft foam and compress it under the selector surround.

Makes no difference whether a V8 or a TD5, it's the automatic part that caused it.

    Pedro,

    I'm impressed.........

I've never done a repair on the disco that paid ME $3.10

I've almost lost a few coins under the selector cover.... if you throw coins in the console... yhey easily vibrate under there... I always wondered what would happen.

    Now I know!..

    Cheers
