    Shentai 12V Impact Wrench

I know these have been around for a while (there's even forum posts about buying them - Yes I've done a search!).

What I'm interested to know is how they have stood up to use over the past 2-3 years (since that's about how long ago people mentioned buying them)??

As I see it it's either a cordless impact wrench for $550-$1100 or one of these cheapies for $89. I know the cordless ones work well, we use them at work but how has the cheapy performed?

Have you used it on anything but wheel nuts?

funnily enough used mine again this morning, flat on the work ute, I have only used it on wheel nuts, landy, trailer, boat trailer etc.I have tested it against the air impact wrench at work and found it to be as good, great bit of gear, and if you wear it out just buy another.

Ive been using mine regular for about two years. Mines not a shentai but something similar. I havent had any problem with it.

I wouldnt get an expensive $500-1000 unit, might as well just replace the cheaper when whenever it craps it.

I've found them pretty good...one from Supercheap and I forget where the other one came from. They will loosen bolts that my 1/2ins air impact driver can't manage.

I've got one that plugs into the cigarette lighter and it works great, the other day I was trying to remove the bolt that holds the front pulley onto the crank snout on a L/R 2.25 Diesel, wouldn't budge with the air impact gun so used the Shentai and it came off after 2 whacks, highly recommended, Regards Frank.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to hear they work as claimed. Its not the cost of the wrench that's at issue with me but I do like things to work for a sufficient amount of time before the die.

Me thinks I'll order one on Monday.

Anyone bought anything from www.4x4store.com.au? (Free freight )

good things with one draw back

DONT use them on low battery voltage (same princaple as winching really) WE had the trail one at work catch fire but we were using it above and beyond the realms of "reasonable" use.

That said, part of the trial was working out just what would kill it..

    immersion, low volts, dropping.

I previously had one from Repco and it cr@ped itself after a short time and now I replaced it with the Shentai one for $89 and it is working a treat.
