    p38arover in broome...

Just had a phone call from ron to say he is in broome and enjoying the local scenery. He will still be off air and not able to respond to email or other communications as he has no access to the net for a while yet...

sounds like he is enjoying himself ....

I sent the first one from my daughter's place in Derby - but it's a Mac and too damn hard to use. The internet cafe there has closed so I couldn't get to a PC.

I found a cheap internet cafe in Broome - some are ruddy expensive and I'm ruddy cheap.

This trip has confirmed that I really don't like holidays. The driving is Ok but I hate the stuff in between - the tourist bit.

Time to go -his 'net place is so dark I can hardly see the keyboard. See you all in a week or so.

I'm heading back to Derby tomorrow so will hopefully catch up with Khunmoo then (he wasn't home when I went there) - maybe also GregTD5

Back in Derby - found an internet cafe.

Haven't found Greg-TD5 nor Khumho as yet. Found Khumho's house and Red Turtle.

Well, I'm off to do an oil and filter change on the Disco. Oil aint cheap here! The 10 litre price on Penrite is the same as I pay for 20 litres in Sydney!

In Derby, I met up with JohnS (KhumHo with red County) and with GregTD5 (with red/white Squirrel helicopter).

My grateful thanks to John and his wife, Anna, who made me very welcome and gave assistance in doing some maintenance on the Disco.

One bit of good luck was finding a damaged Discovery steel rim (free) at my daughter's lodgings and getting it straightened and a second hand tyre fitted for only $30 - to give her a second spare which is needed up there.

I'm back in Broome and will be catching the plane back to Sydney in about 1.5 hours.

See you all tomorrow (or tonight).
