    Air Locker Shock

When the Fender did a half shaft last month I informed SWMBO that whilst replacing them with Maxi's it was a good time to difflock her as well.(me taking advantage of the less technically astute) So off to ARB for twin Airlockers.. 4hours into the conversion the dreaded phone call.
Diff bearings and pinion bearings noisy says mechanic
"OH" says me how much to fix,
    $950
Knee jerk was grease em up and whack em back....... sensible side said spend 3k on airlockers $1200 on axxles mights awell finish the job properly with $950 on new diff bearings......
Off to Harvey Sat morning for a test..

Expensive bearings! - although I suppose that includes labour.

When my rear air locker was installed they replaced the diff bearings at the same time. That was $75 I think. So even 4x $75 is nothing like $950

Yeah but if the diff is already out how much labour is involved?

I would be seriously querying that price.

I had the same problem with my car. And it's only two years old . Anyway the bearings weren't anywhere near that much but I can't remember exactly now. A couple of hundred inc labour if I remember. As said, they were already there doing the locker.
