they are charging the woman who went out to the Peter Brock crash site to retrieve his body with theft because she took the 05 sign off his car so l would say NO don't take the Kenworth badge unless you want a visit with Mr Plod

Awesome photos Craig! Glad to hear he survived - check out the first photo though. If he fell asleep, what an amazing coincidence that he didn't flatten one road sign and that he ended up on the RH side of the road. Looks to me as if he thought the roadworks was just a strip of gravel, not the great trench that it is.

My son came home from Perth this evening and was stopped on the Albany Hwy near Williams, by a boat broadside on across the highway! No sign of a car or trailer, just a few bewildered motorists wondering where the owner was!

He did a search near the road for an upside down car, but found nothing; hopefully the only casualty is the boat!

One for Landy Andy to investigate.

Surely you would have noted the increase in horespower if you lost your load

So you have probablly got a boat in your shed now hey??

Have seen many truck drivers go to sleep and have very little tolerance for this and overloading. The results of doing these things in a prime mover with other traffic do result in fatalities. Truckies do have a bugger of a job at times and most are good, ordinary people. All about duty of care, usually it is not the truckie who is high as kite or falls asleep that is the victim but mum, dad, the 3 kids and the dog. Car drivers are no different though less of an impact.
There is no doubt a real story behind this accident and most of us will not here it.

Hate to be a wet blanket here, but be careful when accusing people of drug taking and overloading. Yes it happens but there are a hell of a lot of people out there that dont. WA is particularly horrible for subbies as the state is run by a few companies that have all of the contracts, they pay poorley and work the subbies into the ground and I know personally subbies who have not had a day off for months simply because if they do they will be put to the bottom of the list and get no work. This happens and the companies that control the work do not care about the owner drivers and will play them to the brink of bankrupcy to keep them working.

Remember that when one driver tells them to get stuffed there will be 50 more gaging for the work. These people are no different from you or me, they make poor decisions and yes I agree that when they stuff up its big and it usually causes big damage. I can also tell you that you hear more about these incidents than the ones where a truck driver has managed to pull up a B-double and due to their quick thinking and reflexes, many people have survived after the car that cut him off nearly caused a pile up, and believe me when I say there are more saves due to the ability of these drivers than there are accidents. Then lets put into the equasion that these vehicles generally run 7 days a week and will normally do between 800-1000 km a day and you can double that with 2 up driving, statistically speaking they do not do that badly in the accident stakes with the hours that they are on the road.

I have zero tollerance for drink driving, drugs and overloading, that includes car drivers and mainly those who tow caravans. Remember that there are good drivers out there before you go tarnishing all truck drivers under the same banner
