Keep an eye out in the papers and on web sites for emergency response, esso, eso, ert, erc personell. Seems to happen mostly late in the year and usually all at once then nothing for months. I had 5 job offers when I took this one. We have had a hard time filling the last two positions, but have only just done so. Basically if you have a combination of medical and rescue experience you have a good shot. Our newest addition is actually a male nurse, but also has a lot of experience in volunteer fire and rescue. Most mine sites have them. Can go the other way to, rescue experience and get some medical (paramedic, occ ist aid etc).The other way to get into it like I did, is get a job in the mining industry, become a volunteer and go hard. I got offered a job so I was lucky, but opprtunities are there.
