I'll be buggered!!
The pics I post were of one of the Kambalda locals, Welk Transport. Lived about 3 houses down from me. His trucks are pretty schmick too, so a shame. Hopefully he was insured and will get a new one quickly.
Does not leave much of them, mainly fibreglass and aluminium now these trucks. Looks like the diesel tank may have had a BLEVE.

They do burn well, I'm surprised there is not more of them with the kilometres that they do and the continual rubbing of wires and said doo-dads

Interesting photos, good eyes there craig and you must be disaster trained too , to spot and know what a BLEVE is, or are you a firey, looks like a good one too, second photo, with the spit cross the top of the tank.

John,
I am an Emergency Response Coordinator for BHPBilliton Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations. Used to be an ESSO (Emergency Services & Security Officer) in Kambalda/Kalgoorlie before this after being in the minerals processing industry. Get to play with all the toys, Fire, rescue, Vehicle Ex, Rope Rescue, Hazchem, Paramedical, all the good stuff and get paid for it too. Should have got into it 20 years ago instead of 5 years ago. Great job and would encourage anyone to have a go at mines rescue if you get the chance. Shame our government fierys and St John paramedics are paid crap, not like that in the mining industry.
