Yep good day was had by all, It pi553d down on us all day. First track was a powerline track up the road from Pole to Pole (Don't know the name) tis the one with the big bogholes down the bottom and the rocksteps on the way back up. We then decided to stop off for a counter lunch at the Duralong hotel, but it was closed. The group traversed towards the fenceline track near Yambo Rd, totally impassable in the weather, we then drove up Yambo Rd, all practiced Drifting for a bit on the way over to the old Yarramalong Scout hall. We then travelled to The Pines camping area and took a side track to Creek Rd. Did the loop and ended up back at the Pines.
After leaving you guys Mat and myself went to hit Slippery Rock Rd (CLOSED) so we turned back to head home the long way round. We both got back O.K got curried up and are both having a sleep before work tommorow.
Damage: One pair of pants, the usual (from getting into or out off the 110)
Most impressive part: Langy's remote control winch and Spotlights
Pics on Stevo's camera so they'll follow when he uploads them
Yep thats the one. That trip was led by Matt & Brad from KLR. We (Blue MNTS 4wd club) did the track shortly after that trip. Took 8 vehicles 12hrs to get through. We found a UHF, sunglasses, snatch strap etc all belonging to LROC club.
If you have the correct vehicle its a must do trip.

Seen it lately??? I really doubt it's do-able. Why don't we have a recce:angel:
It had been raining when those two took us in.. we even got bogged in the swamps at the bottom.. drowned winches, eskies floating in the back while going across crekks with the tirfor.. didn't hit the hill till dusk.. why o why do we do these things..

Matt (my other half) and I often do a wander down Sawpit just for a laugh. Personally I'm with Tusker on this one. They (Forestry) haven't repaired it since I last visited, and I cant actually see them bothering with it. And the recent dry spells followed by flooding haven't really helped it any. I should go for a drive and walk today, and send ya some piccies. Lol it's all of 30 min away...
Slippery rock was closed? hope thats not a permanent thing, i heard they were going to close it.
I went along there about 3 weeks back. They must have closed it after that.
The bog holes were deep with steep entry/exits. A machine had been in there doing work, trimming scrub and had made a drain for one of the bog holes.
Gave me the impression they were doing repairs.
I was on my own, so didn't look at old slippery rock.
Later in the day, I drove the fenceline track finishing at the end that dobbo spoke about in a post above. It was very slippery at the time and the disco slipped into the deep rut there. Had to winch out and to give you an idea of how deep the rut was, it scraped about half way up the drivers door.
Went back along it last week and it was much drier/easier, but bypassed the previously mentioned rut.
I can only recall one interesting track over Mt Warrawolong way. It is not shown on the map.
here is some pic's from the friday trip
