Nice. I had a look at that one but Revs said it was stolen.

Just kidding, was looking at that and a couple of others on e-bay. Shame all the good ones are so far away.

    G'day DiscoDave

Yup! you need to fill out your REMLR membership form and get it off to Phoenix and as he said the Olive Drab paint is cheap and easy to spray, Dinty will give you the go as to the paint to thinners mix, and it is spraying enamel air dry, so is not rocket science

That top bar looks like it has been bent/stretched for the spotties, that would be an easy fix, remove bar, a little heat and a few gentle taps with a desent hammer and it will straighten out, (there is probably a very slight distortion from vertical on those bars at present, as I think that I have seen this vehicle before, probably on Bribie Island on holidays, as I remember the top bar

    cheers

I reckon this belongs to another thread!!

Nice project you've taken on. There goes your free weekends for the next year.

Are they electric mirrors on it???

Gotta say on one hand, it looks like a lot of fun. I'm not allowed to get one... Dave this has to come out on an LROC trip.

On the other hand, thank @#$ we weren't invaded in 1977 if this was the best the Army could come up with!

    CraigE - thanks.

UncleHo - thanks for the tips! I originally thought the bar was supposed to be like that 'cause it sort of matches the bonnet... sort of. I will put straightening it on the list. Also did you say spray the olive drab? Would a paintbrush not do?

Spudboy - project? I never said this was a project! Help me!

Tusker - Electric? No, just plastic van mirrors. I'd be happy to bring it out on an LROC trip provided it's not too far away and it's an EASY one.
I know what you mean about invasion, it seems more like a 1957 vehicle than a 1977 one. There are tanks that can go faster than this!

Steering is improved now - removed 3/4" play in the steering damper and disengaged the freewheeling hubs.

The paint can be brushed or rolled, but believe me, spraying this paint is damned easy!!!

Great idea Matt. You'd better stock up on spares and consumables though.
