As that character from the laugh in show used to say, 'veery interesting,
I thought the company stuff was regulated by the ACC, ACCC or whoever.
It appears if from what has been written on here , some sort of collusion has gone on. Corparate takeovers are they great, more profits for the companies and less for the towns. Its a wonder they aren't closing down all the plants and moving everything to china.
The feds, well why would they care, they probably wouldn't have much show in tassie.
So you could almost bet nobody will hit the dock over any of this if there was any skullduggery going on.
But then if the process was above board and the winner put in a better tender, so be it. Not much you can do about it.

If you wanna talk about hostile takeovers, I recon someone has been talking to Bill Gates on the "how to's"

Or "now not to's" as well. M$ expertise isn't so much in hostile take-overs, more so in stealing other people's intellectual property, rebadging it as their own, then giving it away "free" with the OS so as to drive the competition out of business - then getting busted for it and having to pay a petty fee (couple of million usually) to the other party.
Now, back to the thread at hand - maybe someone should send some information off to those cruddy 6:30 TV "journalists" that we so love to hate, who knows they may accidentally do some good. (I mean ACA and Today Tonight...)
