Hey All
Me and the girlfriend are planning a trip in September up to Fraser Island. We have about 2-3 weeks up there and were wanting to get some advice from any "locals" for some good places to camp, drive, to check out or just to visit on and around Fraser and Brisbane. We would likely visit some places on the way up and on the way back.
We are up for some fairly challenging driving and like remote campsites fair away from everyone.
We are in Melbourne and would be driving the Disco up.

Angus, the Gold Coast Land Rover Owners club would welcome you on a couple of our trips i'm sure. We do not have any trips confirmed for around this time yet, however will keep you posted and happy to receive a PM nearer the time for more info on what we have going on.
As for Fraser, our club recently ran a great trip there to the Western side of the island.......a bit longer to get to but complete privacy and perfect beach camping!!

If you are after some serious Tailor fishing it is around the northern end of the island at that time of year. Try from Ocean lake up to Ngkala rocks or as far as the Cape. Plenty of beachfront campsites along that stretch.
Not as congested up that part of the island either.
