My 2 bobs worth dont waste your money . I work for holden at there proving ground in vic we run 24/6 aweek we have grey roos and wallabys, wombats, deer , fox,s rabbits , possums and snakes and what ever other creature lives down there
We bought one to cut the damage down to the cars as we are not allowed to cull the wildlife except with the cars
all our roads are one way to avoid accidents
The end result the car that was fitted with the shuroo still hit wallabys and roo,s and many a near miss which every other car has around the test tracks
We have also tried those whistles and except from not costing you a fortune are a joke also
So dont be a fool with cash to burn id buy a decent bull bar and some decent driving lights or dont drive when its dusk , dawn or at night:cool:

Hey Rangieman, how do I get a look around the track at Lang Lang, always wondered what it's like in there.
The Shooroo is a joke, a bloke I know swore by it on his truck recond that it had saved him just hours before when he was talking to me one day, I went out and had a look at the one he had and to his surprise, the wiring had come loose and rubbed on the road making it obviously useless.
It is luck of the draw weather you hit a roo or not, as most people have said, the wistles are the same, just something to annoy you at certain speeds where you can hear them over the stereo.
Protect your car and think about how and when your driving and stay alert is your best defence.

Which metal are you then going to use as the annode that will corrode instead of the cars body?
It works on oilrigs and ships because it is localised to one are that will be tuned for one type of metal for that area and will use a different type of metal as its annode.
As Blknight posted, they can work if the vehical has no impurities or weakened areas allready but this is not very often the case.
Fish oil is still the best defence against rust.

I read a pretty convincing article saying they were a load of rubbish, it had me convinced. The did testing in controlled conditions and it didnt seem to have much affect, they also agree with what tusker said about the thick forrest and windy conditions theory, this eliminates all effect that they had.
They finished with the comment that the felt they would lead to more roo strikes because people drove flat out on roo ridden roads with a false sense of security.
The best way to avoid roo strikes it to lower your speed when in roo prone areas, thats it. Matt

Myself and the and another guy at work had the option of driving lights or a shuroo on our new work cars. We both do similar KM pa and through similar terrain. He chose the Shuroo and I went a set of Lightforce 240's, to date his car has been to the panel beaters 5 times for repairs from roo strikes and touch wood I am yet to hit one.
I would much rather be able to see what is infront of me than rely on a noise.
Infact, the lights saved my wife and myself just tonight from hitting a cow at 100kph.

I hit a big roo at 170Kmh about 10 years ago long story short lucky to be alive. Anyhoo i bought a shoroo after the car was repaired and in my opion they attract the damn things!! If i were you spend the money on a bullbar!!
