how to tighten the roof lining ?

I went to an motor trimmer the other day to get my collapsed driver's seat fixed and I asked him the same question. He then showed me another one he is doing for another Defender. To do it properly you need to remove it and glue new vinyl in as the other has shrunk, about $110 if I remember correctly.

Mine has not sagged that badly and unless you saw a new one you would think the roof was just closer in, he said don't bother unless it gets worse.

that retain the lining to the roof ribs fail with time so i've replaced them with nutsert/rivnuts

and then use a short 6mm bolt and washer to hold the lining up

I did this job to my old 2 door Rangie many years ago with bathroom carpet looked great back then.

Dept of the Interior at Carlton sells very pliable soft carpet (not harsh stiff carpet like marine type) thats rubber backed that is supurb when glued with contact glue & will never unglue once done properly.

I did my 2 door rangie around 23 years ago and found the spray contact to be next to useless, Selleys Quick grip worked fine though.

As I have said previously Land Rover perfected the drooping headlining many years ago in the Range Rover, and decided to introduce it across all models.

Yep, totaly agree, Sellys Quick Grip but make sure its the "Gel" as it won't drip back on you.

They are called J.C & Bros Upholstery in Orchard Road Brookvale, can't remember the exact price and that was per section not the whole three.
