Front Recovery Point

Thanks mate, thats exactly what I was pondering as I was also looking to get hold of the 4X4 intelligence Reco points.

Could you put them on the chassis rail on the same side as the nudge bar bolts on? or would this not leave enough room for a shackle etc

2 of my mates use those Strops and I must say that they are very good.

They give a smoothe recovery as they are more elastic than a snatch strap but are bulky and quite heavy but easier to keep clean.

1 mate paid $110 for his at Wandin this year from Nobles but it was a show special but I thnk they are normally about $120 or so.

Im heading up there tomorrow to get a new tree trunk protector, I think I left mine at Gembrook a couple of months ago as that was the last time I saw it.

Not sure where the nudge bar bolts onto so sorry, can't help there.

Another thought: If mounting on the inside of the chassis rails, extend the air intake under the number plate to the left & right until the recovery points are visable and thus usable. If you were to do it neatly it wouldn't look too bad and the Disco might benefit from a little more airflow :D

i would have to get rid of them every year to feel anything approaching comfortable using nylon, it alters characteristics way to much over time for me....

Ok I'll bite. How do these work? I assume they sit behind and inside the crashpods. Have you a picture of the front of the vehicle?

The link to a photo of the front is above. Quite a neat set up. It appears to sit about 30mm behind where the bolts enter the chassis & crash cans for the wombat bar.

Yes it's very pretty

Makes the front of the car look all boy racerish. But unless I'm wrong from the looks of the photo's you'll still have to modify the chassis rails to mount it.
