Thread: How not to wash your Disco

Someone did walk it first which is why most of us declined to drive thru it, as it was quite deep. The car lost forward motion as it started floating and therefore lost all traction. The guy that attached the snatch strap was the guy who walked the bog hole.

Army always taught us to walk it first and all water, mud obstacles 2nd low and dont stop...but always in a Diesel..never anything controlled by electrickery. electrics + water= Disaster
The Disco video was amusing.. if that was the LROCWA then I might even consider joining if they get up to slight mischief...and drive rovers

Not real fair for you guys to bag the guy,he is a new landy and 4x4 owner.
Some of the more experienced people there should have strongly reccomended that he shouldnt do it,that waterhole is a well known trap.
I know that waterhole well,I got stuck in there on a Blackstumpers trip.AgroJnr went thru in hes Rossignol Disco and made it,I went thru in my 109 van, water over the bonnet, had a "flame out" as I came out,got towed out then a spray of CRC and all was good, holden 6's hate moisture.

I'm with you. There are too many wusses (sic) out there. Fantastic effort. I probably would not have done it with those tyres on but I did do something similar when the Disco only had 300km on the clock.

Yes we are stupid, yes we have more money than brains but just think.....without us you would never have these great video's and photo's.

    Hi guys,

I hear the movie star has been stripped, dried and cleaned, oils to be changed - but was fitted with breathers anyway - and apparentley only needs a new ignition module (fingers crossed) so the Disco will be ready to tackle a 'drier' version of the track .

It was a bad start to an otherwise great day (NOT a LROCWA trip) and a result of acting in the heat of the moment. Lesson was definatley learned and before everyone else gets all "Holier than thou" remember some of the hiccups you or your friends might have had in the past - (have to admit this was a big hiccup )

Anyway, the car will be properly sorted out, the owner will try maybe half that amount of water next time, and hopefully will participate in future trips.

    Cheers - Will

No, 12 out of 10 for stupidity.

Why drive a good car through a mud hole? Yes, that's balls - testosterone overruling good sense - also known as stupidity.

I guess you have never done anything stupid.

And anyway , what get's classified as a "good" car.

It's always a fine line. Make it out the other side and you feel sooooo good. Don't make it and you feel sooooo bad.
Don't try and you'll never know!
