that would depend on your location ;)
just make sure the alloys you buy are rated for a 130 ........

I am actually thinking of changing over from my 130 steel wheels to something steel and aftermarket because I want to go to a tubeless tyre.
I am currently running 235/85/r16 and am thinking that I may want to be able to go **a little** wider next time I change my tyres - say 255 or 265.
Any suggestions on this - particularly with the load rating issue?
I am currently thinking procomp steelies as they claim to be super heavy duty "with 8 welds instead of the usual 4..."
Comments/ideas/suggestions anyone please?
Cheers,
Cameron
I got a 130 as well running the same set up I am just sick and tired of
all the punctures 7 in the last year all of them have been sand rubbing holes in the tubes. Its reached the point that every time I air down I get worried about punctures. beach trips are the worst I air down to 25psi and have new tyres all round ,really frustrating:mad:
Spoke to Ryano at fourbys in Brisbane and he can get desert rat rims for $99.00 (apparently made in perth) Just not sure if I should go disco rims or
the desert rats
BUMP ...
any updates on load ratings for 130 steel wheels please guys? Gotta know what I am starting with before I can work out whether or not I can change to something else...
load ratings are going to be relevant for the alloys too ...
thanks,
Cameron
I run them with some road tyres, & I'm not impressed.
Balance seems ok but
1. The holes are just big enough to drop wheel nuts through, which get caught by the disc. Take wheel off again to retrieve.
2. More seriously, I don't like the way the loads are fed into the hub. Disco wheels say have a nice big face which mates up to a corresponding nice big face on the hub. The pro comps have a ring that mates up. Very small surface area, and the studs then have a gap between hub & wheel. Can't be good for them being in tension like that.
Bit difficult to explain, but have a look at one, you'll see what I mean.

OK thanks for the tip Max.
Back to square one I guess ...
