    Interesting Afternoon!

Had an interesting afternoon. Call from next door just after lunch - "I'm bogged, can you give us a pull?". I asked if it was a Landrover or tractor job, and was assured the tractor was not needed. So I stuck the cmaera in my pocket (he has a Hilux) and headed off. He was in an interesting spot - heavy timber, winding track, not a hope of a snatch. Also inspection of the track suggested it would be very foolish to get within about 50m of where he was. So I backed about 200m to the closest hard ground, and was able to reach him with both our recovery strops plus two drag chains. He had the chassis sitting on the ground, with the wheels in stuff about the consistency of half melted icecream. I was unable to move him - the Landrover just spun the wheel, fortunately did not dig in. So no good photos. I went and got the tractor while my neighbour started improving things with a shovel and put bark ramps in place. Pulled him out with the tractor, but he went down another twice before getting onto hard ground.

Soft patch. Most of it was hard enough to barely mark with the Landrover, but there was this one spot which must have been a bit of a depression, although it didn't show. I pulled him out forward, as there was only this short soft spot.

I knew JD likes to rub it in.

    Pics would have been good.

As the Fender is off the road the last 2 cars stuck on my daily work run didn't get recovered.

Now don't be like that! Its quite a good Hilux - a year or two ago he got a pig on my place with it, so they are good for something.
